Prayers Answered

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. - Philippians 4:6

  • I prayed to God for guidance on a particular situation. The situation was to move away for 4 months to do Bible work, or to stay where I am and work with my church. The Word of God is supposed to be our guidance, and so I prayed to God that He would teach me His will from His Word! God lead me to Acts, and the first missionary journey of Paul (Acts 13-14), and He showed me the way! The answer was to stay, and it was just amazing seeing God come through with His promises!
  • I prayed to God to change the attitude of me and my family to a more Christ like attitude (meaning, seeking to help and reach others- Matthew 20:28; Luke 19:10) and we have now decided to pray and choose the people we will be seeking to serve!
  • I asked God that He would teach me about things in regard to what university to go to! And passages popped straight out in front of me in regards to education, learning and its purpose!
  • Naturally, I am a really proud guy, and will always think I know everything, and I cannot change myself (Job 14:4; Jeremiah 17:9), so I prayed to God for Christ like humility (Philippians 2:5-8) and He somehow, changed me, and I asked advice off my parents, and actually took it! (May seem small, but it is a massive miracle to change my heart)
  • My friend Amanda, who studies at Bradford University, asked God to make a way for her to get into Leeds University to study medicine. God came through and she starts this September!
  • God works in mysterious ways, I am currently choosing a university to go to! However, originally, my goal was to go to the cheapest one (as I want to go abroad), but I have been praying to God, and SILENTLY, God has been answering my prayers day by day, showing me what TRUE EDUCATION is, and where I should be looking... this prayer I believe will continue to be answered
  • My friend Tokoza is caught up in the madness of A Level results and 'clearing'. However, there are such promises in the Bible as Psalm 37:4-7 and Proverbs 3:5-6 which WE MUST claim. So a few of us prayed for Tokoza's situation, and she has an interview with Bradford university tomorrow! God is in control!
  • Tokoza has received a place to study nursing at Bradford university. No fees, and can still keep her job, a prayer powerfully answered
  • I prayed that people me and my friend Troy were visiting weekly would open up more and we could befriend them a lot more, and today (22/08/11), it was AMAZING, God truly worked on people's hearts and greater friendships have been made
  • Today (22/08/11), my uncle and Grandma seemed to be having a bit of a dispute or heated talk, and I prayed and only through God's power, they came in happy and it seemed to be resolved and the rest of the evening has been pleasant!
  • My cousin Jean passed away yesterday (writing this on 22/08/11), yet, it has been a huge blessing in the latter days of her life. She found God, she made her life right with her heavenly Father, and suffering from cancer, she prayed that when she died, it would not draw on and cause the family pain, but that it would be quick, which it was, so God answered our prayers and showed mercy, even in times of a loss! God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance and God gave Jean that chance (2 Peter 3:9)
  • Giving leaflets out, and I prayed that people would be more receptive to the leaflets, and only through God's power, a lot more people accepted the leaflets!
  • God has answered my prayers as I am speaking in Manchester soon, and I was yet to receive the topic, and today, the topic was given at the most random time! God is Good! And the thing is, the topic is exactly what I need to study personally too! So praise God!
  • Prayed to God that I could help people more, and that Jesus may be shown through practical actions, and today two people came across my path which, only through Christ's power, I was able to help! Praise God!
  • I asked God to wake me up early enough so that I could spend some much needed time with Him, and guess what, He did! God helps us in the seemingly small things too, He loves us so much that He would concern Himself with the little details of our life!
  • I was really struggling with a passage today, or more like I was scared to study it, a bit apprehensive because it looked complicated, but God promises that the Spirit of truth will guide us (John 16:13-CLAIM IT!) and so I prayed and asked Him to take control. The result of the study was amazing, and it also helped me more with my education choices too! I will share this study sometime, God willing!
  • I need more faith, and so I asked God for a situation to strengthen my faith- now I have that situation. I have decided to apply for university, as an international student, and the process, time, organisation, money all added up really just proves what Jesus said in John 15:5 "...for without me ye can do nothing." So my next prayer request is that through Christ's power, my faith can be strengthened and doors opened up for a way to go to university... another prayer I am looking forward to see answered!
  • I recently went to an evangelistic training school, and the Lord worked powerfully! This year, it is running again, and we asked God that He would work even more powerfully this year, which, to His glory, He has! They have almost surpassed the statistics we set last year! More people are hearing the Gospel of Christ!
  • I asked God to lead me to people who are searching for truth, and He led me and my friend Troy to someone in our local area who is searching! Praying that God continues to bless and work on his heart!
  • I asked God to open up opportunities to get a job, and I have now received a couple of interview invitations- it is all in God's hands!
  • I had a very important decision to make, and once again, God showed me through His Word where to go! God answered my prayer and fulfilled His promise!
  • I had recently been discouraged by a certain thing, and the fact that there was so much error and straying away from the truth on this certain topic. I asked God to show me His way, and for encouragement on this topic and the next morning God showed me from His Word that these things would be happening because the devil does not want us to fully yield to Christ and serve Him with a singleness of heart- our ONLY safety is to be grounded and rooted in Christ through His Word!
  • God answered my prayer, and showed me how much He loves me! I listened to a study, and God spoke to me and showed me that I can FULLY rest in Christ, knowing that my strength is only in Him, and that He has made every provision, all I can do is surrender and believe
  • I asked God to change me, to make me more like Him... Yet throughout the day, there were so many trials and temptations and I got discouraged because I was like, God, why are you allowing all these trials and temptations, I asked you to change me.... Then God showed me that He actually did answer my prayer. Hebrews 12:4-11 talks about the LORD chastening us, and "whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth" (verse 5). The fact that the trials and temptations came was a DIRECT answer to my prayer, and Jesus was teaching me through them to rely more on Him! In fact, Hebrews 2:18 tells us "For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted." Here, the Bible tells us that we will be tempted, but that in that temptation, Jesus is able to succour (or run to our aid)! So the trials and the temptations were God's workmen to change me to make rely more on Jesus' grace! This is why in James 1:2, 3 says "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."
  • GOD DELIVERS US WHEN WE ARE TEMPTED- Hebrews 2:18!
  • Recently, we have been having 5am prayer meetings on Skype, and I struggle to get up early, but I asked God to wake me up, and He has woken me up at that time!
  • I prayed that God would use my Dad somehow for a specific thing, and He did!
  • My sister is ill, vomiting in the morning, and we put it in prayer, and she has improved so much!
  • I prayed to God to show me more of the true gospel, and God has led me and taught me some GEMS OF TRUTH!
  • I asked for divine appointments over the last few weeks, and God has brought people into contact that I can talk with about God
  • Claiming the Promises- Proverbs 3:5, 6- Today, I had a spelling test for part of a job application, and I knew I needed to leave the house by 11:45. Claiming this promise all throughout the day and actually relying on it, the following are a few events that happened today:
    • So I wanted to study before I leave, and I hopped out the shower at 11 thinking I had a good solid hour, only to find that there were dishes to wash, so I ran down stairs and washed the dishes, and it seemed like I had no time whatsoever to study God's Word... Then I rechecked the timetable and saw that I didn't need to leave the house till 12:15! Which meant I could spend time with God in His Word
    • So I left out, and just as I was reaching the bus stop, I realised I had no change... (This is not good! Praying about more organisation) so I walked speedily to the shop to get a postage stamp and change only for the bus to go past as I was walking to the shop! So I waited for the next bus, claiming this promise (this is not to say that we can be negligent and expect God to fulfil our lack of diligence) and the bus came late!
    • So I got to town with 7 minutes to spare to what I thought to be the latest train I could catch, and so I ran to the station, brought my ticket, only to get to the platform and the door to lock in front of me! However, still claiming the promise, I looked at the times and saw that there was another train which I could catch which could get me there in time! So I caught that train and got to the place literally at 2:00, the time that was scheduled for my appointment! Amazing!
    • I did the spelling test, relying on God, and it was challenging, but after, like 40 minutes after, the company rang me saying that I had passed with flying colours and so I have a phone interview the next day! Praise God! So claim those promises in faith, God does NOT fail
  • I have some training that I want to start in a couple of weeks, but the manual must be brought before and it costs £55. Before, I was praying to God to make a way to afford this training, as it is at a bit of a cost, and over three days, I received £20 each day, (and really for no reason!) God is providing!
  • The British Gas man came to fix the pipes today, and I was praying to God for the strength to give him a piece of literature to take with him. I have been in this situation before, and tried to rely on my own strength, and miserably failed... This would always be the case by myself as God's Word says "...for without me ye can do nothing..." (John 15:5), and so I asked for strength to give, and for God to work on the guy's heart to take it, and HE TOOK IT! Only through God's strength!
  • In our youth group, we have been praying for some people, and here are two of the amazing answers!
    1. We prayed for a girl called Alice. She goes to one of the youth's school and is from another country, hence her understanding or efficiency in her work is impaired due to the language barriers. Sadly, she was getting E's in her exams which did not reflect her true potential and ability. So we prayed for her, and now she is getting B's in her exams!
    2. I prayed to God that if it was His will to find me a job, then do so. Now He has! Praise God!
  • Today, God brought something back to memory. A few months ago, I was listening to a sermon and the preacher highlighted the importance of GOSPEL MEDICAL MISSIONARY. This is the work that Jesus did; healing and teaching and leading people to see that true health is a result of obedience to God's Law. So, I vaguely remember telling God that I did not know how to do be a Gospel Medical Missionary, and did not know how to do that work, and that He was going to have to teach me how. I have just recently attended a GOSPEL MEDICAL MISSIONARY course, and God has just brought back to my memory that He answered this prayer!
